2017 World Hydropower Congress

2017 Congress & Venue

From 9–11 May 2017, leaders and specialists from government, industry, finance, UN agencies, academia and civil society will gather in Addis Ababa to set the course for hydropower development over the coming decade. 

The world’s total installed capacity of hydropower is now significant, at 1,211 GW, including 145 GW of pumped storage. Nonetheless, about two-thirds of the global hydropower potential remains undeveloped, with an even higher proportion in the developing world.
