The San José Declaration on Sustainable Hydropower identifies a new set of principles, commitments and recommendations to guide new development and enhance the sector’s contribution to the energy transition.  

This consultation draft of the declaration has now been superseded by the final version, which was launched at the conclusion of the World Hydropower Congress on 24 September 2021 after an extensive public consultation. You can download the final declaration here.
