The International Hydropower Association (IHA) would like to invite you to attend the 2009 Congress taking place in Reykjavik on 23-26th June 2009. Building on the extraordinary success of the Antalya Congress in 2007, IHA will bring together leaders from business and industry, civil society, financing, and government to address the advancement of sustainable hydropower.

The 4-day event will be provoking, dynamic and influential - framing hydro's role in our common future - and will address:

• Interactive exchanges on Water, Energy and Climate Change policies, including the UNESCO/IHA Greenhouse Gas Initiative
• Discussions on Markets and Investment including hydropower development, hydro financing and hydro's role in climate change
• Presentations on the sector's progressive sustainability initiatives, including the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Forum

The Congress will be informative and interactive. Participants will engage with leading figureheads from the water, energy and climate arenas. Experts will share thoughts on markets, investment and sustainability initiatives, exchanging and discussing a broad range of perspectives.

Prior to the Congress IHA will also offer a one day networking tour as well as a two day post-Congress tour, providing insights into the country's hydro and geothermal development and Iceland's unique scenic and historical attractions.
