The Canadian Forum on Hydropower: Past, Present, and Future

November 4-5, 2008
Fairmont Château Laurier
Ottawa, Canada

Hydropower has been Canada’s leading source of electricity since 1881, and the forum will focus on ways to keep it the leading source for the next 127 years. Speakers will address some issues that have been with us since hydropower’s early days, such as the transmission of electricity over great distances. We will hear the latest on fisheries and projects such as Eastmain-1-A. And looking forward, we will consider the financing of power stations and their lifecycle analysis, among other issues. Most importantly, we will celebrate past successes and new and future partnerships. Check out the website for the program details.

Register online now for an exciting two-day program on hydropower’s economic, social and environmental role in Canada. www.canhydropower.org/hydro_e/p_forum_2008.htm
