On 15 July, preceeding HydroVision 2008 (Sacramento, USA), IHA will be hosting a meeting on Reservoirs, Hydropower and Climate Change: Understanding the Greenhouse Gas Footprint. The meeting will cover:

• reporting on recent measurements at reservoirs in various climate zones;
• implications for the hydropower sector;
• recommendations for the future monitoring of reservoirs;
• methodologies for the calculation and anthropogenic emissions relating to the creation of reservoirs; and
• the state of art in terms of predicting and mitigating emissions at vulnerable sites.
