Forum Consultation Phase 1 and Phase 2

There are two mechanisms for wider stakeholder input into the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Forum process. The first is the Forum members’ individual reference groups and networks with whom they discuss the Forum work on an on-going basis.

In addition, two open consultation periods are built into the Forum process. The first was in January and February 2009 and focused on developing relationships with stakeholders, building understanding of the Forum process and getting initial feedback on the content of the Protocol through comments on the Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol Key Components Document - January 2009 (pdf).

The second focusses on the detail and practical application of the Draft Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol, and will take place over a three month period (September-November 2009), following the release of the Draft Protocol in August 2009. The Phase 2 Consultation is held alongside Trialling of the Draft Hydropower Sustainability Assessment Protocol in a number of different locations.
