Chief Infrastructure Specialist, The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA)
Callixte Kambanda is chief infrastructure specialist at the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA), housed by the African Development Bank in Abdijan, Cote d'Ivoire. He has an MBA in project management from the Maastricht School of Management and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Callixte Kambanda has worked in African countries, regional economic communities and specialised institutions in the energy sector. He led the work on different ICA publications on energy, especially on IPPs in Africa and on power pools. He coordinated the implementation of a number of power projects in his country, Rwanda, while he was working with the Rwandan Power Utility.
While working as executive secretary of the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) between 2006 and 2008, he successfully established the EAPP secretariat and led the team in mobilising financing for the power pool. He is a member of the Germany Engineer Association (VDI).
