Waterpower Week in Washington provides three great conferences into one! IMREC, METS and NHA’s Annual Conference have teamed up to give you a 3-day jam packed event to network and discuss about policy change and government affairs.  

The event highlights perspectives on the role of hydro, explores issues affecting hydro and marine resources, and helps participants develop a future game plan to meet challenges and ensure the future sustainability of the hydro and marine industry.

New tool maps world’s water batteries: the clean storage solution for renewables

Interactive tool for tracking pumped storage hydropower projects launched by IHA at COP23 climate conference

9 November 2017 - More than 100 pumped storage hydropower projects totalling some 75 GW of new capacity are in the pipeline around the world, according to a new online resource launched today in Bonn, Germany.

South America Regional Liaison Officer 

Rufino is one of the liaison officers of our South American National Office, based at Itaipu Binacional in Paraguay. Since 2003, Rufino has been a senior engineer in the Production Programming and Control Division of Itaipu Binacional, responsible for data analysis, programming and operation of the Itaipu Binacional hydroelectric plant. He is an alternate member of the Energy Statistics Committee of the National Energy Information System (CEE-SIEN) of Paraguay.

Rufino is a civil engineer from the Catholic University of "Nuestra Señora de la Asunción", Paraguay, and has completed postgraduate courses in energy economics and policy, energy planning, energy information management and energy prospecting models. He represented Itaipu Binacional at the 2017 World Hydropower Congress in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
