Director, Water Resources and Environmental Management for Zambezi River Authority (ZRA)

Engineer Christopher Chisense is  Director- Water Resources and Environmental Management for Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), a bi-national river basin authority jointly owned by the Governments of Zambia and Zimbabwe, with the mandate to obtain the greatesst possible advantages from the potential offered by the shared section of the Zambezi River between the two countries.

Eng Chisense is an environmental engineer with over 15 years work experience having worked for Zambia Environmental Management Agency, the Rural Electrification Authority of Zambia and in the Zambian Miningin Sector under Konkola Copper Mines. He has a Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering  from the University of Zambia, and a Masteers Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham of the United Kingdom.

His current role at ZRA includes overight and management of the water resources and environmental management activities as well as Information Communication Technology functions relating to the operations of ZRA.

He is the ZRA  lead coordinator of the implemementation of the Hydropower Sustainability Asessment Protocol under the 2400MW multi-billion dollar project-the Batoka Gorge Hydro-Electric Scheme.The project is under preparation stage and engineer Chisense is working with a team of 5 internal assessors to carry out the assessment using the HPSAP.
