Senior Water Resources Specialist, Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI)

Divas B. Basnyat leads the water resources program at Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI). He holds a Doctor of Engineering degree in Water Resources Engineering from AIT, Thailand and has more than 30 years of academic and consulting experience in over 12 countries in Asia and Africa. He specializes in water resources systems analysis, planning and design of water resources/hydropower projects, disaster risk management and climate change impact studies. He led the recently completed project on “Adaptation to Climate Change in the Hydroelectricity Sector in Nepal”, funded by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN).
