James DALTON

Coordinator of Water Initiatives, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

Dr James Dalton is the coordinator of global initiatives for the IUCN Water Programme. He has worked on water resource management issues for the past 20 years, ranging from technical aspects to institutional development, governance, business planning and socio-economic issues.

Previously, James Dalton was the senior integrated water resource management adviser at the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC) in Fiji.

He holds an MSc in irrigation engineering and a doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK.
