Leonardo SAENZ

Director of Eco-hydrology, Conservation International

Dr. Leonardo Sáenz is the Director of Eco-hydrology at Conservation International, where he provides expertise and innovation on areas of green infrastructure, sustainable hydropower, climate change and freshwater security and conservation. Leonardo earned his Ph.D. in water resource management at King's College London in 2011. He has worked in Latin America for over 15 years on research and development projects, particularly disentangling the connection between healthy cloud forests and sustainable hydropower. His work has been published in important academic and industry journals including Science, The International Journal on Hydropower and Dams, Global Environment Change, and Ecosystem Services, among others. His work has also been highlighted in Nature, BBC World and Reuters.
