Luiz Fernando Leone VIANNA
Luiz Fernando Leone Vianna is a graduate Electrical Engineer from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil and Bachelor of Business Administration by the same University. He also holds Specialist degrees in Hydropower Plant Maintenance, Materials for Electrical Equipments and Hydropower Generation.
Currently, he holds the position of Director General – Brazil at Itaipu Binacional, the world’s largest generator of hydroelectric energy (103,098,366 MWh in 2016).
He’s also a board member of the ONS (Brazilian Power System Operator) and of FMASE (Brazilian Electrical Sector’s Environment Forum).
At the Brazilian Electrical Sector’s Associations Forum, Mr Vianna is a founding member. And at CONCEPE/EPE (Brazilian Energy Research Company) he’s vice-president of the Advisory Board.
Among other positions held by Mr Vianna in his long career at Brazil’s Electrical Sector, he was CEO of COPEL – Paraná state Energy Company, where he also previously held several technical and managerial positions.
For ten years, from 2004 to 2014, Mr Vianna was chairman of the board for APINE – Brazilian Independent Power Producers Association. He also chaired FMACE – Brazilian Electrical Sector’s Environment Forum and was a member of COEMA – Environment Advisory Board at CNI – National Confederation of Industry.
