Pierre Lorillou

Senior Hydropower Specialist, World Bank Group

Pierre Lorillou has recently joined the World Bank as senior hydropower specialist. He is now in charge of preparing and supervising hydropower and dam projects in Africa as well as in Georgia. He is also in charge of coordinating the Sustainable O&M for Hydropower (SOMH) initiative on the World bank side.

Pierre Lorillou holds a postgraduate in water management from the French National School for Water and Forestry (ENGREF), which he gained in 2000 in Paris. He draws on more than 15 years of professional experience in hydropower & water sectors for sustainable development. This includes experience in Africa, Asia and South-America, seven years as project manager in the hydropower industry (EDF) and five years as an engineering consultant in water resources management. Beyond technical inputs, his tasks have included coordination of projects, economic and financial analyses and institutional strengthening.
