Thibault DESCLÉE DE MAREDSOUS

Thibault is Chief Marketing Officer of GE Renewable Energy.

Thibault has been involved in renewable energy in various communications, marketing and strategy leadership roles for the past 15 years. His goal is to support the development of sustainable energy sources. As the Chief Marketing Officer of GE Renewable Energy, he often participates in conferences where he advocates on hydropower.

One of Thibault's main priorities is to ensure that hydropower is positioned as the best enabler for higher integration of sustainable energy sources while being a great source of base load electricity at a competitive cost. Over the past year, he has been an interim member of the IHA Board and chaired the Congress Committee. 

Thibault began his career at Trader Classified Media in 2000, after graduating in 1999 from NEOMA Business School with a Master’s degree. He is also an alumni of INSEAD’s executive leadership program. He joined Daimler in 2001 where he held management positions in Marketing & Communications. In 2006, he joined Alstom Power, where he held several global Marketing & Communications leadership positions. In 2011, he became the Global Vice-President Communications for Alstom Renewable Power. In 2013, Thibault moved to Alstom Wind, as a Global Product Management Director. In 2014, he was appointed Global Vice-President Marketing & Strategy. He was also part of the GE-Alstom integration team. In 2015, Thibault joined GE Renewable Energy as Strategic Marketing Leader of the Hydro business.
