Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL)

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), an entity of Adani Group, was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. AGEL has rapidly grown to become a leader in India's renewable energy sector, with a diverse portfolio that includes solar, wind, hybrid, hydropower and pumped storage projects.

Currently AGEL has operational portfolio of more than 12 GW from its Wind and Solar Power Projects and is targeting to commission 50 GW of total RE capacity encompassing Wind, Solar, Hybrid and Pumped Storage Projects by 2030. AGEL is constructing world’s largest single location Renewable Energy Park having Wind, Solar and Hybrid Power Plants with a total capacity of 30 GW.

The PSP & Hydro vertical of AGEL is witnessing significant growth, marked by the establishment of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the development of self-identified Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) across several states, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Rajasthan. This initiative has secured a locked-in portfolio exceeding 26 GW. Additionally, on the hydropower front, AGEL has signed an MoU for the 570 MW Wangchhu Hydropower Project (HPP) in Bhutan and is prospecting projects in countries like Nepal and Vietnam.

AGEL is dedicated to advancing sustainability in the hydropower sector through innovative projects and practices. The company is actively involved in developing hydropower and pumped storage projects that play a crucial role in energy storage and grid stability. These projects help balance supply and demand, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and support the integration of more renewable energy into the grid. AGEL's commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated by its efforts to achieve water positivity, zero waste to landfill certification, and significant reductions in CO2 emissions.
