EGEHID

The Dominican Hydroelectric Generation Company (EGEHID) is a state-owned public entity founded in November 2007.

EGEHID is headquartered at in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The company specialises in hydroelectric power generation and is responsible for the ownership, management, operation and development of the hydroelectric generation systems of the Dominican State. Its work is aimed at guaranteeing the production of electricity in sufficient quantity, with high quality standards and at competitive prices, contributing to the strengthening of the national electricity system and the sustainable development of the country.

Its main functions include the management of hydroelectric infrastructures, the development of renewable generation projects, the optimisation of the use of water resources and the promotion of practices aligned with environmental protection.

EGEHID's mission is to generate quality electricity, in harmony with the environment, through the efficient use of available resources and the strengthening of a highly qualified and motivated human capital, with the aim of satisfying the needs of customers and contributing to the well-being of the community.

EGEHID plays a key role in national energy security and in the transition to a more sustainable energy model.
