Georgian Energy Development Fund

Established in 2010 by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, JSC “Georgian Energy Development Fund” is a state-owned company based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Georgia is remarkable rich in hydro, but also having potential of wind, solar, biomass and geothermal resources, which can be used for creation of additional capacity by means of domestic and foreign investments.

The mission of GEDF is to enhance the realisation of the country’s energy potential, ensure the retrieval of appropriate funds for developing projects and effective implementation.

Portfolio of JSC GEDF is quite diversified any includes hydro, solar and wind projects at different stage of development.  Developing 20.7 MW Qartli Wind Farm - the first and so far only operating wind farm in Georgia is definitely considered as a success story of the fund.

GEDF is the second entity within the Country after TBC BANK, which has been accredited by the Green Climate Fund.
