Global Hydro
Headquartered in Austria/Europe, Global Hydro is a technology leader in the small hydropower sector, offering water-to-wire solutions for greenfield, revitalization, digital solution and lifetime service projects around the world. With a specialization in Francis, Kaplan, and Pelton turbines, Global Hydro combines European engineering excellence with a strong international presence to deliver sustainable energy solutions that last generations.
We aim to contribute our technical expertise and practical experience in modernizing infrastructure and advancing digitalization - and to collaborate with industry partners who share our mission: accelerating the transition to renewable energy.
One of our latest milestones is a hydropower plant in Austria, developed in partnership with the customer. This project features a custom-engineered Kaplan turbine developed specifically for this unique site - a world-first innovation that enables highly efficient operation even under demanding flow conditions. With an installed capacity of 14.3 MW, the plant produces approximately 73.8 GWh of clean electricity annually. Sustainably powering 20.0000 households.
In Switzerland, a project stands out as a model of sustainable infrastructure reuse. By integrating a historic headrace tunnel into a new small hydropower system, we minimized environmental impact and maximized efficiency. Turning existing assets into future-proof energy sources.
Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every solution we design. Through revitalization, we upgrade aging hydropower infrastructure for higher efficiency, longer life, and lower carbon footprint. Our Digital Solutions - including real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and machine learning - enable smarter operation and more energy with fewer emissions.
