HESİAD

The Hydroelectric Power Plants Industrialists Association (HESİAD) is Türkiye’s first renewable energy association, founded in June 2000 by private hydroelectric power investors and headquartered in Istanbul. With over 24 years of experience, HESİAD has played a leading role in the development of Türkiye’s hydropower sector, contributing significantly to the private sector’s hydroelectric capacity.

HESİAD actively supports sustainability in the hydropower sector by addressing operational and regulatory challenges faced by its members, facilitating dialogue with policymakers, and promoting the efficient use of water resources.

By following the latest technological developments and disseminating best practices, HESİAD ensures projects are optimised for both environmental and energy efficiency. Its working groups – Basin Management, Hybrid Power Plants, Operational Problems, New Investments, and Pumped Storage Plants – play a key role in identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and guiding strategic development across the sector.

With 24 years of experience and a network of dedicated members, HESİAD continues to strengthen Türkiye’s hydropower industry, advancing sustainability, efficiency, and international collaboration for a resilient and renewable energy future.
