Established in 2004, Torrent Power Limited (TPL) is one of India’s leading integrated power companies. With a strong presence across generation, transmission and distribution and headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, TPL plays a key role in delivering reliable and efficient energy solutions across the country.

As of March 2026, TPL has an operational generation capacity of 5 GW, comprising a mix of thermal and renewable energy sources. A further 10 GW is under construction, including 1.6 GW of thermal capacity, 5.4 GW of renewables and 3 GW of pumped storage hydropower projects, reflecting the company’s strategic focus on diversified and future-ready energy systems.

TPL serves more than 4.2 million customers through its distribution business, delivering power reliability exceeding 99.9% and achieving transmission and distribution losses of just 2.34% in its licensed areas - among the lowest in India. The company operates 480 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, with an additional 108 circuit kilometres under development.

A key area of growth for TPL is pumped hydro storage. TPL is developing one of India’s largest single-location pumped storage projects, with a planned capacity of 4.2 GW in Maharashtra. In addition, TPL has secured and is progressing multiple pumped storage projects in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, while evaluating strategic investments in conventional hydropower.
