Ukrhydroproject

Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Ukrhydroproject (UHP) is Ukraine’s leading engineering company specialising in hydropower and water management construction. For nearly a century, UHP has delivered design and engineering services for hydropower plants, pumped storage plants, reservoirs, canals and other major hydrotechnical infrastructure projects worldwide.

As a general designer of major hydropower developments in Ukraine, UHP has played a key role in the development of the cascades of hydropower and pumped storage plants on the Dnipro and Dniester Rivers.

Among its flagship projects is the Dniester pumped storage plant, one of Europe’s largest pumped storage facilities, with a designed capacity of nearly 3,000 MW in pumping mode. UHP has supported the project throughout its lifecycle, from feasibility studies and detailed design to engineering supervision and ongoing construction of its final units, including continued work under challenging wartime conditions.

With decades of international experience, UHP has contributed to hydropower and water infrastructure projects across countries including Vietnam, Mexico, Venezuela, Laos, Ethiopia and Poland. Operating under ISO 9001 quality standards, the company combines technical expertise with a commitment to reliable and sustainable infrastructure development.

Looking ahead, UHP is focused on unlocking Ukraine’s hydropower potential through the development of new green energy and balancing-capacity projects. By supporting the expansion of renewable integration and strengthening energy security, the company is contributing to a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
