We offer true multidisciplinary expertise, including permitting and environmental services, dam design and regulatory dam safety, hydraulics/hydrology, geotechnical/geological, structural and mechanical/electrical engineering.

WSP is proud to have supported many pumped hydro projects, such as the Nant de Drance Pumped Hydro Project (900 MW) in Switzerland over a period of 10 years. This included the excavation and support system for one of the largest caverns in the world, reinforced concrete for the internal structure, and all auxiliary equipment and systems in the underground infrastructure - including ventilation systems (air and fire), fire detection and fighting, and SCADA. Similarly, since 2019 WSP has supported delivery of the 250 MW Kidston pumped storage project in Australia as Independent Certifier.
