Ana Paula MOREIRA

Head of Hydro Engineering, EDP

Ana Paula Moreira holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, complemented by advanced training in management, leadership and sustainability. Since joining EDP in 1995, she has contributed to major hydropower developments and plant repowering, authoring and coordinating civil and geotechnical solutions for tunnels, underground powerhouses and dam foundation treatments - across landmark projects such as Alqueva and Baixo Sabor (c. €1 billion in combined investment), among others.

In 2013, she was appointed Head of Stakeholder Management in EDP Generation’s Sustainability Department, where she designed engagement strategies and co-led the implementation of the Tua Valley Regional Development Agency during the Foz Tua HPP development - mobilising public and private actors under an innovative publicinterest approach and managing more than €15 million in community-impact projects.

From 2018 to 2021, she led the General Studies Area, covering feasibility and inventory studies for new initiatives in Portugal, support to international hydropower projects, and geodetic/GIS governance. Since 2021 she led EDP Generation’s Engineering Department.

From 2021 to 2026, she headed the Engineering Department at EDP Generation, overseeing different engineering disciplines and contributing to projects across EDP Generation's asset life cycle. She also led initiatives in geospatial analytics, hydrometeorological infrastructure, dam security, and the development of a pumping pipeline, including major transformation projects such as the Alto Lindoso reshaping for pumped storage.

Since April 2026, Ana Paula is the Executive Director of Hydropower and Thermal Power for EDP’s Renewable Generation Platform.
