Marta BOTTINI

Marta Bottini joined IHA in February 2026 as European Policy Lead, where she leads the Europe Policy Task Force and coordinates IHA’s engagement in EU policy discussions. Based in Brussels, she works closely with European members to strengthen coordination across the sector and support a more unified and effective representation of sustainable hydropower at EU level. In her role, Marta monitors policy and regulatory developments, contributes to shaping advocacy priorities, and engages with EU institutions and key stakeholders to ensure that the perspective of the hydropower sector is reflected in European policymaking.

Prior to joining IHA, Marta gained experience at a European electricity association in Brussels, where she worked on wholesale electricity markets, contributing to policy discussions on market design and power distribution. Before that, she worked at the European Commission in DG Research & Innovation, focusing on clean energy transition and innovation policies, including the analysis of Horizon Europe projects and national energy strategies.

Marta holds a Master’s degree in Energy Management from ESCP Business School and a Master’s degree in Finance from Bocconi University. Her background combines experience across policy, energy markets, and finance.
