The World Hydropower Outlook is the flagship annual publication of the International Hydropower Association (IHA). Read by policymakers, industry leaders and experts, it tracks hydropower development globally and provides forward-looking analysis on its role in delivering secure, affordable and sustainable energy systems. The 2026 edition will focus on hydropower as a pillar of energy security and resilience, with particular emphasis on pumped storage as a source of long-duration energy storage and system flexibility.

The Global Launch will be hosted in partnership between Addleshaw Goddard, IHA, Global Renewables Alliance and the British Hydropower Association and bring together around 100 senior representatives from government, hydropower and energy organisations, financial institutions, civil society and the diplomatic community. It will feature a presentation of the publication’s key findings, followed by a high-level panel discussion and a drinks reception.
