WWEA: Improving investment conditions for wind and other renewables in the developing world
The World Wind Energy Association is preparing a conference on “Improving Investment Conditions for Wind and Other Renewables in the Developing World”. The conference will take place on 24 October 2014, in conjunction with the UNFCCC ADP meeting in Bonn.
The WWEA Conference aims at discussing new instruments for climate finance, in particular related to the Green Climate Fund, and how new funds can be made accessible for wind projects in the developing world, in order to support the global shift towards renewable energy.
During the first part of the meeting, WWEA will present a study which the organization conducted in Pakistan earlier this year about the main barriers for the wind sector in Pakistan. The results can be used well also for an international debate, as they allow to identify barriers which may also play a role in many similar countries.
