ILI Group joins the International Hydropower Association

The International Hydropower Association (IHA) welcomes Intelligent Land Investments Group (ILI Group), a fast-growing UK pumped storage hydropower developer, as its newest member.

The land investment company based in Scotland is developing 2 GW of pumped storage hydropower as well as over 500 MW of utility scale battery storage.

IHA is a non-profit organisation with members operating in over 120 countries. A third of the world’s total installed hydropower capacity is managed by the association’s membership.

Eddie Rich, CEO of IHA, said: “We are delighted that ILI Group, which has ambitious plans for future pumped storage hydropower development, has become part of our growing community. As the global voice of sustainable hydropower, our role is to promote good and best practices and speak up for companies leading the way in the clean energy transition.”

Mark Wilson, CEO for ILI Group, said: “We are focused on developing pumped storage hydropower so we can play our part in helping achieve net zero targets. We see IHA as a powerful body to help governments understand the importance of these efforts and encourage coordinated action. In the UK, this will ensure more renewables can come on to the system and help balance the grid.”

ILI Group first established its reputation at the turn of the century working in the residential sector before expanding into the renewable energy sector five years later.

“We have worked with over 600 landowners in Scotland and are involved with many of them to bring our plans to fruition. We are proud to have a reputation for being a company with integrity and for delivering results,” Mr Wilson added.
