IHA are proud to support the Pumped Storage Hydro US Conference, organized by REGlobal and co-hosted by Global Transmission Report which takes place on 3 June at the Jay Conference Center, Midtown East (DuMont Building), New York.

With over 23 GW of installed capacity, pumped storage remains the leading utility-scale energy storage solution in the United States. An additional 19 GW of projects have been licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and permits have been issued for another 31 GW, highlighting significant momentum in this space. However, the full potential of pumped storage in the US remains untapped.

This event aims to explore what is needed to unlock this potential—including policy support, permitting reforms, grid integration, technology innovation, and financing solutions.

This one-day event will convene policymakers, developers, utilities, regulators, grid operators, technology providers, and other key stakeholders to share insights and strategies to accelerate the development of pumped storage projects across the country.
